We are excited to bring back our friends from Josselyn as they offer a Youth Mental Health First Aid training. This training is geared for adults who interact with youth in any way. We encourage parents who would like to have a better idea of mental health situations, and some handy tactics for dealing with those moments to attend. We strongly encourage all leaders who work with youth, especially those who will be going on the mission trip to register to join us. There is a little bit of preparation required before the training, but it is asynchronous, and can be done at your leisure.
Katie Nahrwold, Josselyn, Outreach and Community Engagement Manager, MHFA Instructor
Youth Mental Health First Aid is about a four and a half hour training course designed to give adults key skills to help an adolescent who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The covers a range of common disorders and potential crises such as helping a young person who is having a panic attack, is contemplating suicide or is struggling with substance abuse.
Katie will be the instructor of this class. Click here for a print friendly Josselyn Flyer on this class.
