Prayers of the People June 13, 2021

The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster God, you are the great silence before whom all words fail. But even the words that fail need to be spoken and so we come to you in prayer. We seek you. We trust you. We long for you. So meet us here in what is familiar and holy. For we’ve been here before: in worship. We’ve been here before: in community. We’ve been here before: in the delight of gathering. We’ve [...]

The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster God, we meet you embodied: wherever we are, you meet us with these hands, these feet, this breath, this body, our very selves bound up in your presence. And so we seek a blessing today for these hands, these feet, this breath, this body, that within us and between us you might be made known, you might heal, you might mend, you might notice, you might [...]

Speak within us [...]

Day and night, we long for you, our Light of Lights, Source of All. Summer and winter, we seek you. When we find ourselves toe to toe with Lake Michigan, or standing on the bank of a river, deep and wide, we long for you. As the air warms, the sun shines, the spring flowers push up from the ground, reminding us that more life will come, we turn toward you. And we ask: hear [...]

Prayers of the People April 25, 2021

Holy God, Breath of Heaven, Our Light and Salvation, We inhale and we exhale, every breath becoming a prayer of gratitude, for it is you who, with a word, breathed light and life into creation. And it is you, Holy God, who breathes sacred life into our very beings. We breathe in your grace that surrounds us as sure as the oxygen in the atmosphere. We breathe in your love, revealed to us in [...]
