Types of Help Needed: Teaching, Tutoring, Coaching, and Mentoring, Activities with Agency Clients

Service Opportunity Details: Volunteer mentors needed to help newly arrived refugee adults become self-sufficient and acclimate to a new culture. Mentors help by making a home visit once a week to teach English, play games, show refugees how to ride public transit, and be a supportive teacher, advocate and friend.

Location: Chicago

Volunteer Ages: Teens, Young adults, Adults, Groups

Frequency: On-going

Frequency Details: Mentors are expected to visit their refugee mentee in their home for approximately 2 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.
