Service Opportunity Details: Direct Service Volunteers work with staff as a team to provide a safe and supportive environment for victims of domestic violence and their children served through CAWC’s programs. Volunteers provide significant support to our children’s programs at the Humboldt Outreach Program and the Greenhouse Shelter Program. In addition, volunteers at Greenhouse Shelter aid residents, perform general office work, respond to hotlines and other calls, and help with maintaining safety of the shelter facility.
Volunteer Ages: Young Adults, Adults
Frequency Details: A commitment of at least 6 months of 4 hours per week (a total of 100-120 hours) is required.

Other Information: Direct Service Volunteers are required to complete a 40-hour Domestic Violence Training Program, which is offered twice a year (fall and spring) to new volunteers.
