Join Kenilworth Union Church Green Team
A Just Recovery 2020 Green Team Summit
“connecting the dots between the pandemic, climate change, and racial justice”
Sunday, September 13 to Thursday, September 17
Kenilworth Union Church Green Team is part of a statewide organization, Faith in Place, dedicated to calling people of different faiths together to unite in the common purpose of caring for our earth. Every year Faith in Place sponsors a “Green Team Summit” featuring speakers on a wide range of topics on ways to become better stewards of our environment.
Each day of the summit will offer one or two programs (lasting about an hour to an hour and a half) on a variety of topics ranging from how climate change impacts health, the benefits of a more locally based food economy, transitioning to clean energy, lifting isolation by connecting with nature, and how young people are leading on issues of environmental justice. Each program begins later in the day—between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. The time commitment is as little or as much as you have time for.
The entire program is free and all that you need to do is register. Our Kenilworth Union Green Team will be participating and you’re welcome to join us—even if you’re only able to attend one program.
After the summit the Kenilworth Union Green Team will discuss what we’ve learned and ideas that may be put into action going forward. Your ideas are welcome. Please submit ideas you would like to share to me for the discussion.
A summit on “A Just Recovery” is so timely and needed, and we’re excited to participate. We hope that you can join us.
