Word
“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness on them light has shined.” Isaiah 9:2
Wisdom
Christmas Eve

“And I will set a candle in my window to light the Christ Child.”
Down across the tragic years,
Through the mists of time and space,
Child of innocence and grace,
Come again for our redeeming
To that dedicated place
Where the candlelights are gleaming!
Lo, the Christmas candles burn,
Little One, for your return!
Hard the way and long the street,
Dark and tortuous the turning;
Still you come on gentle feet
To assuage our bitter yearning.
Come again for our redeeming
Where the altar lights are gleaming!
Lo, the Christmas candles burn,
Little One, for your return!

Prayer
Still yet arrive, O Christ, One in whom we place our trust. Arrive today, as we arise to meet you. Amen.
