“Praise the birth of the Son of God. Praise the birth of the Lord Christ Jesus. Let us all now thank Thee, our Lord and our Redeemer Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord with singing. Sing praise to God. We sing Alleluia, Amen! Praise the Lord, Alleluia, Amen!” —The Christmas Story
Come and worship! This Sunday, December 8 celebrate Choral Music Sunday at the 9 and 10:30 a.m. worship.
Kenilworth Union Church’s Chancel Choir has been working diligently to bring their best to God and to our congregation. Our musical offering is The Christmas Story by American composer, Ron Nelson. This exuberant choral cantata is accompanied by organ, brass, and timpani, featuring soloist Jonathan Wilson. Narration from church members of different generations will interweave word and song, painting a glorious soundscape of Christ’s story. Composed in 1959, Nelson’s work is based on Heinrich Schütz’s seventeenth century setting of Christmas Story.
So let’s pack the pews to hear the good news of the birth of our Lord and Savior. Invite your friends to worship and be surrounded by God’s light and love.
