The Reverend Christine V. Hides

Holy and almighty God, we lift our eyes to you, our strength our source of  joy. You our keeper have delivered us here this glorious morning, to rejoice in the company of friends and soon-to-be friends, our siblings in Christ. We are overjoyed that you brought us together again with Vernon Clark, the Heirs of Joy, and all of the musicians who praise you with song today.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the many blessings and abundant gifts you pour over us by day and by night. In this season of sun and rain, graduations, and end of year celebrations we give you thanks, O God as we offer a moment to silently name the way your love shines like a bright light in our lives. For our daily needs that are met, for the opportunity to rest in your creation, for family and community, for meaningful work, and the opportunity to serve you with our hearts, hands, and minds, and for so much more, thanks be to you O God.

We lift our eyes to you our strength, our help in every challenge as we pray for the needs of the world, our loved ones, and our neighbors around the earth. You hear our cries for help, for protection, for safekeeping O God, and so we ask you to hear our prayers as we offer the deepest cares and concerns of our hearts.

Come quickly Lord, draw near to those who are in pain. Comfort those who mourn. Find a way for those facing impossible obstacles. Hold close the sick and the weary. Drive out evil, hatred, and violence of every kind. Guide those in positions of power to serve the common good. Let your deep peace wash over us. Let your justice prevail. Our hope comes from you. Lord hear our prayers.

We lift our eyes to you our strength, our keeper, our help in every challenge, the source of our joy. This Pentecost Sunday fill us with your spirit, inspire us to live, serve, and love as Christ in this beautiful and broken world, and now unite our voices in the prayer Jesus teaches us…Our Father…Amen.
