Holy Sonnet XIV by John Donne

Nothing gets through, O God. I want only to be near you, but nothing gets through. I distract myself with this, that, the other. I pull away, admittedly toward some inadequate muse. Do not untie me from your love. Seek again to mend what is broken in me. And draw me back toward the possibility of your newness, your light. Amen.
