The Miracle Worker

Join us September 21 for the first movie of the season, “The Miracle Worker”. We thought it would be a nice followup on Bill”s sermon on the window in the Mallott Chapel. The movie is the inspirational classic of Helen Keller (played by Patty Duke),  blind and deaf after suffering a terrible fever as a baby, she spent years unable to communicate, leaving her frustrated and occasionally violent.

As a last chance before she is institutionalized, her parents contact a school for the blind, which sends Annie Sullivan (played by Anne Bancroft) to teach Helen. Helen is initially resistant, but Annie gradually forms a bond with her and shows Helen ways of reaching others.

During this time of the pandemic, we can all use an uplifting and moving true story!
