By The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster

I have long been drawn to Romans 8:26 which says that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with “sighs too deep for words.” Sometimes holy wordlessness is all that we have. The weight of what we want to bring to God is too overwhelming to speak aloud. Words are not enough. Or words are not required to feel drenched in nearness to God. Sometimes wordlessness can declare the glory of God with a boldness that wordy prayers never dare approximate. May you meet God today in that holy unspoken trust that God is with you.

Let us pray:

Hear our “sighs too deep for words,” O God. Amen.
