By The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster

Sometimes life brings something so difficult it takes weeks, months, years of work to untangle all that happened. Sometimes our life experiences make us ask the biggest questions as we push away from and draw near to the possibility of the presence of God.

Can exhaustion be prayer? Can not-knowing be prayer? Can complete and utter incomprehensibility of what is ahead be, itself, a prayer? Can facing the unlit path ahead be prayer?

Let us pray:

Eternal God,
you call us to ventures of which we cannot see the ending,
by paths as yet untrodden,
through perils unknown.
Give us faith to go out with courage,
not knowing where we go,
but only that your hand is leading us
and your love supporting us;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
