By The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster

On a Sunday morning, sometimes before even thinking, we begin the work of approaching the presence of God. It is so ingrained in us to begin, that sometimes we forget the enormity of that task. The mystery of God is beyond all human understanding.

The prayer below begins to point us toward that truth, and yet here we are again on a Sunday morning, ready to greet with joy the incarnate God who with affection presses us onward toward praise.

May our God who is in all and through all meet you this day.

Let us pray:

O God, your immensity fills the earth and the whole universe,
But the universe itself cannot contain you,
much less the earth,
and still less the world of my thoughts.
