Finding God in the Faith of Others

Don’t let the winter doldrums set in. The calendar is chock-full of programs and events to warm your heart and faith. Bring a friend or neighbor or meet someone new. Here is a sample of what’s ahead.

Faith Circle:  When we gather together to worship, serve, or share potlucks we experience the holy spirit moving through us, bringing us closer to God. Christian faith is never a private endeavor…it is together. Built upon the faith and witness of those before us and those surrounding us. It’s messy. Oft times with squabbles.

In this community, how does another person’s faith inspire or challenge your own?

Expand the circle to not just the faith of other Christians. How could the faith from other traditions, improve your awareness of God, and way you live into your faith?

The Faith Circle will explore such questions as we discuss Barbara Brown Taylor’s most recent book Holy Envy beginning next Thursday, Jan. 16 at 9:15 a.m. This book chronicles Taylor’s experience of teaching an introductory world religions class at a liberal arts college and the positive impact it held on her own faith. Bring your curiosity. Women of all ages are invited.
