This Sunday, May 1 is Choral Music Sunday. At both the 8:30 and 10 a.m. services, Chancel Choir and Orchestra will be offering Franz Schubert’s Mass in G Major. Choir and soloists will be performing this mass in its original form with voices, strings, and organ continuo. Originally scheduled for Spring 2020, we are honored to finally be able to offer this masterwork for worship.
I give special thanks to our dedicated Chancel Choir. These talented singers have been diligently learning their scores to prepare. We are dedicating this worshipful music to the memory of our beloved friend and Chancel Choir member, David Honoré, who passed away on Easter Sunday. You might see some tears streaming down our faces. Know that we are grateful and stand firmly in our faith. David is at peace with no more pain, singing all the tenor high notes in God’s heavenly choir.
Friends and neighbors gather for Fellowship at 10:45 a.m. in the Culbertson Room. Coffee and cookies will be served.
There’s always a backup! When the occasional technical glitch or power outage occurs during livestream worship, please be aware that the full service will be available, often within minutes, on the main church YouTube channel. Thanks to our skilled AV team, technology glitches are rare and an alternate plan is in place.
