Week 12: Recovering a Sense of Autonomy and Faith

December 18

During our final meeting, we generously shared what we expected during our journey on The Artist’s Way as well as what we experienced.  Many of us identified an inherent desire to not only do all of what is required but to do and do and do. Could we receive the permission granted to us to not always be “doing”? Measured outcomes and productivity has dominated our thought processes and life rhythms for so long, that to allow ourselves to dream, day dream, and play in The Artists’ Way challenged us. To become a human being requires letting go of being a human doing.

We not only have the permission but now understand we need to nurture ourselves with time and allow our curiosities to blossom.

So this Christmas will there be a toy under the tree for you? A paint set? Model train?

The Christmas message calls us to let a child lead us back to God. Many of you are already on your way. Make a date with a youngster to go play.

Miscellaneous ideas…..

Several had described the impact of writing Morning Pages in the third person, I thought you would appreciate this article I  just noticed.

When we need a reminder of why we are to play and dream, enjoy this podcast.

Lastly members on journey of The Artist’s Way inspired the sermon I preached on December 15 at the 8 a.m. service. Enjoy the story.

Merry Christmas. See you in 2020.
