November 2, 2016 marks the beginning Kenilworth Union Church’s 125th year! We know that each Kenilworth Union member, old and new, has a story, a feeling, an experience or a special memory that binds his or her heart to this Church. Over this next 125th year, we will be celebrating our collective history through your special stories and remembrances.
Think about your first encounter with the Church. Recall how your faith was nurtured, relationships formed or simply the ways Church was a part of your life growing up. For some members, consider the stories you have that span generations. Perhaps over the Thanksgiving holiday when you’re together you can ask your children and extended family what makes Kenilworth Union special to them. Some suggestions that might trigger their stories would be: A Joyful Noise, Sunday School, Christmas Pageant, Rummage, Christmas Bazaar, Mission Trips, 3rd grade Bible, Confirmation, Choir retreat….
You are invited to submit your story however it is easiest for you or allows you to capture your remembrance. Simply writing your story on a card is welcome. Next week, we will have cards available at the front desk or in the Culbertson room for you to fill with your stories. Include copies of photographs (not the originals since they will not be returned). If you prefer you can email your story to 125@kuc.org. Or, let your creativity soar and make a short video or audio recording. There are no limits or requirements for how or what story you would like to share.
We know that your story will warm all our hearts with the love and gratitude we have for our Church. Thank you and Happy 125th Kenilworth Union Church!
