September 25—Gratitude Daily Devotional

Susan Resko

While my younger self would recoil at this thought, I have learned to be grateful for adversity, which has not only strengthened my faith, but has taught me to be more compassionate, patient, and resilient. I used to recoil when people chirped, “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger,” but I now know that God has always seen me safely through fear and pain.

Let Us Pray:

Yea, though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
—Psalm 23:4

Perhaps you can list 2–3 things, people, or aspects
of your life for which you are thankful today.

Be a writer for gratitude: Kenilworth Union Church invites you to become part of a gratitude journey, diverse members within the church will author these devotions. Find out more here.
