September 24—Gratitude Daily Devotional

Don Farnsworth

I feel so grateful for many blessings, but there is one that is current and is worthy of devotion. The 100 days of Prayer that just concluded. The prayers that Katie chose were inspirational, the background of the prayers was fascinating! But the date of the prayers was a marvel-some over a thousand years ago! How great is our God! He was receiving praise and gratitude long before our lives. We are experiencing a troubling time—can you imagine the times that have passed and the troubling times experienced by the authors of those prayers? And they, like us, know that God’s love will never end—He is the past, present, and our future. He is here with us!

Let Us Pray:

Dear God,
Thank you for your love.
Help us to remember in times of trouble,
you are with us and love us.
You will comfort us.
Thank you for your love.

Help us to remember in times of trouble,
you are with us and love us.
You will comfort us.
Your love will never end.
In Jesus’s name—we thank you!
Amen.

Perhaps you can list 2–3 things, people, or aspects
of your life for which you are thankful today.

Be a writer for gratitude: Kenilworth Union Church invites you to become part of a gratitude journey, diverse members within the church will author these devotions. Find out more here.
