Heal our healers, O God: the ones who wait as slowly one leg and then the other curls into the passenger seat, as frail hands struggle with impossible seatbelt, as one more doctors visit comes and goes, as one more week’s pill box needs to be filled. Heal our healers, O God, the stoic ones with an ache in their backs from lifting feeble bodies, dogged, determined, resolute, persistent, present. Heal our healers. Amen.
