When I was a college sophomore, I received an award to travel on an all-expense paid trip to Europe. The only requirement was to give about fifty after dinner talks. I was appalled at the challenge but as I prayed, I thought of Moses’ experience with God and applied that lesson to my assignment. Each night I had a refreshing and new talk ready.
“I will send thee and Moses said ‘who am I that I should go unto Pharaoh? I am not eloquent but am slow of speech and slow of tongue.’ And the Lord said, ‘go and I will be with thy mouth and teach thee what thou shalt say.'” —Exodus 3:1–12
Let Us Pray:
God,
thank you for Moses’ witness to your power
the ability to make each of us into what you ordain.
We owe all of our lives to you.
Amen.
Perhaps you can list 2–3 things, people, or aspects
of your life for which you are thankful today.
