John Sharp, Director of Operations

You may have noticed some construction in the Memorial Garden which began on Tuesday, July 19.  Kenilworth Union Church’s Memorial Garden has been used since the 1970s and is reaching its capacity. The Building and Grounds Committee and Executive Committee have approved the addition of one new Memorial Wall at the southeast corner of the garden that will run from the east entrance around to the flagpole. Tuesday began the excavation of ground cover and vegetation. In the coming weeks, there will be staking; excavation of the ground to build the wall; a concrete pour; the limestone and granite build of the wall; a bluestone walkway construction; and finally landscaping. The additional capacity will allow us to furnish memorial plots well into the future. Thanks to the Buildings and Grounds Committee and Jerry James in particular for shepherding this project. If you have any questions, please call or email John Sharp.
