We extend the sympathy of the congregation to the family of Kenilworth Union Church Minister Emeritus Gil Bowen, Mark (Margot) Bowen, Stephen (Marnie) Bowen, and Kathryn (Robert) Irvin upon the death of Rev. Dr. Gil Bowen’s wife and Mark, Stephen, and Kathryn’s mother, Marlene Bowen on November 21.
During the 125th anniversary celebration of Kenilworth Union, many of the stories submitted by members of this congregation reflected on the impact of Gil and Marlene Bowen on the writer’s faith. These stories adorn the Culbertson Room. Since so many of these stories share memories of Gil and Marlene, we are panning to bind them and share with Gil as a way to express our collective gratitude for the integral part he and Marlene played in our church history and life. We are hoping that during this painful time for Gil and his family, knowing what a legacy they left for us to build upon will be comforting in some small way.
If there are additional reflections about Kenilworth Union Church you would like to share please submit them no later than Friday, December 8 to 125@kuc.org.
We appreciate your contributions.
