Kenilworth Union joins New Trier Multifaith Alliance

The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster
Senior Associate Minister

The migrant crisis shifts and changes every season, and this winter, dozens of buses from Texas have been arriving at North Shore train stations causing residents to ask, “How can I help?” On Tuesday, February 27 from 7–9 p.m. we are invited to the Saint Francis Xavier School Gym for a nonpartisan, interfaith, community wide event to learn more about coordinating the North Shore response. This is a free event, and all participants are encouraged to (1) register here and (2) bring a suggested donation of new, unopened hygiene items (diapers, wipes, maxi pads, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste), gift cards, or Ventra transit cards. The panel will include Sandra Torres, a bilingual journalist for NBS 5/Telemundo and local leaders serving the migrant community. See below flyer for more information.

This event is sponsored by the New Trier Multifaith Alliance (NTMA), of which Kenilworth Union Church is a new member. In the summer of 2023, Kenilworth Union Church was invited to join the NTMA. Rachel Allport and Julie Peterson now serve as Kenilworth Union Church representatives. Watch for more NTMA updates in the near future.
