The Racial Justice Committee

The Racial Justice Committee invites you to participate in an upcoming dialogue series, Sacred Ground. This series, developed by the national Episcopal church and held in conjunction with our neighbors at Church of the Holy Comforter, will invite our two communities to participate in a conversation about race.

This five-part series begins at the end of January and runs through May meeting in small groups once a month for about an hour. This is offered in person and online on Mondays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at noon. As a preview of the content, the sessions from the syllabus to be covered include:

  • Stepping Onto Sacred Ground
  • The Roots of Whiteness, and Deeper Roots
  • Selective Access to the Melting Pot and the American Dream: 1830s–1960s
  • Divisions in Present-Day White America
  • Becoming Beloved Community

Please sign up as soon as possible at the Sacred Ground webpage to allow us time to organize the groups. For more information on the Racial Justice Committee, please visit our recently updated webpage.

The RJC also sends out a quarterly newsletter on local events and opportunities. To add your name to the mailing list, click here.
