Katie Lancaster’s sabbatical project is “Prayer in Uncertain Times,” a proper research topic for a nation facing the twin pandemics of COVID-19 and 1619, so while Katie’s away during January and February, we thought it fitting to join Katie in thinking about Prayer in a sermon series called Help, Thanks, Wow: The Lord’s Prayer. According to Anne Lamott, there are only three really good prayers: help, thanks, wow. According to Jesus of Nazareth, the best prayer is only 38 words long (at least in the Gospel of Luke). Annie and Jesus are both masters of the simple. Hope you’ll be there, at least virtually.
