WINGS Pickup Monday, May 10 through Friday, May 14
Good news! If you saved up things for Rummage and now have nowhere to donate them, help is on the way. Thanks to a renewed partnership between Kenilworth Union Church and WINGS (one of the Church’s Outreach agencies), you can arrange to have WINGS pick up donations from your porch in early May!
This is such a great opportunity. We hope you will take advantage of it and will alert your North Shore friends as well.
As you may know, Kenilworth Union Church’s Rummage Sale had to be canceled this year because of COVID-19, as have rummage sales all over the North Shore. So it’s a real blessing that WINGS is once again able to partner with us to provide touch-free pick-up that benefits one of our valued social service agencies.
WINGS will be picking up donations from May 10 through 14. Here’s how to take advantage of this opportunity:
- To donate soft goods (clothing, linens, jewelry, scarves, shoes, hats, and purses), please contact WINGS by phone (847-624-0451) or email WINGS to arrange for a pickup. Leave a message with your name, address and preferred pickup date (from Monday, May 10, through Friday, May 14). Then bundle your items in closed plastic garbage bags and put your donations outside, by your front door or garage, on your donation day, labeled WINGS. WINGS’ workers, in their marked trucks, will take care of the rest and provide you a donation form for taxes.
- Furniture donations are handled differently. To donate furniture, email WINGS or call 224-938-3902. They will guide you. You will need to provide pictures of the offered items.
Please do not donate items other than those listed above; save them for Rummage 2022, if you can. And please don’t include hangers.
WINGS, the largest provider of domestic violence services in Illinois, will use your donations to provide its clients with needed items. At any given time, WINGS has more than 250 guests in its safe homes, shared homes and transitional housing in and around the Chicagoland area.
WINGS provides a pathway to independence for people whose lives have been disrupted by domestic violence. WINGS provides all the tools and supports needed to help families move towards safety, independence, and self-sufficiency by providing clients with safe housing, life skills training, job training, and job search support.
All the best to you. Please stay safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you in person whenever it’s safe.
