Many have been curious about the progress of the Gil and Marlene Bowen Fresh Food and Nutrition Center at By The Hand Kid’s Club, which was a transformative gift from the Bowen Fund meant to alleviate the fresh food desert in Altgeld Gardens and teach the neighborhood’s children about growing and consuming healthy foods (see page 17 of the Annual Report for more information).

We are pleased that By The Hand’s Executive Director, Donnita Travis, and Managing Director of Partnerships and Development, Andraya Yousfi, will join Margot Bowen next Sunday, October 29 worship at 8:30 and 10 a.m., to provide an update on the exciting advancements happening with the club and the nutrition center.
