You are invited to complete The Fuller Youth Institute’s Online Assessment. The Board of Trustees with our Youth and Family Committee is seeking to sustain a lasting legacy of ministry with young adults age 15–29 and we will be using your input as well as the research of Fuller Youth Institute to cast a vision for the future. This assessment tool is based on the book, Growing Young: Six Essential Strategies to Help Young People Discover and Love Your Church.

Our ministries with children and youth are grounded in the congregation’s promises to guide and nurture those who are baptized by word and deed, with love and prayer, encouraging them to know and follow Christ and to be faithful Christians who know, love and serve God. As we envision the vibrant future of Children’s Ministry, we value both innovation and tradition. We discern meaningful changes that communicate the love of God in this time and place, while remaining grounded in the rich history of Kenilworth Union Church.

Over the last 18 months, Children’s Ministry has been working with Ministry Architects to develop a multi-year vision. We are finalizing foundational documents which articulate our vision, purpose, guiding principles, and content. Five teams were created to address our priority areas. Youth Ministry’s works with Growing Young will dovetail with Children’s Ministry’s work with Ministry Architects.

Each week of Lent we will share one of the guiding principles for children’s faith formation which shape our teaching and learning.  This week’s Growing Young survey relates to our guiding principle of innovation grounded in tradition.
