Scripture
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Wisdom
Consider this an invitation to ponder gratitude as the most radical attitude to life. It is an attitude that dissolves the easy distinction between what is called “spiritual” and the world of “material” concerns. Spirit is not different from matter; it is more than matter. Gratitude arises in that in-between space where the inner and outer worlds meet and touch and encompass each other. Authentic spirituality, genuine politics, and good economics arise from a spirit of radical gratitude. —Mary Jo Leddy, Radical Gratitude, 2014
Prayer
Let gratitude arise, O Spirit of the Living God, a radical gratitude that welcomes inner transformation and a lived hope. Amen. —The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster
