Wisdom
Sharing concern for others with God in prayer does two things at the same time. You expose the need of the other person to your total life and resources, making it possible for new insights of helpfulness and creativity to emerge in him. In other words you see more clearly how to relate yourself to the other person’s need. In the second place you may quicken the spirit of your friend to a sudden upsurging of the hunger for God, with the result that your friend is in the way of help from the vast creative energies of God. —Howard Thurman, A Strange Freedom, p. 94, 2014
