Scripture
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.  —Philippians 3:10–11

Wisdom
St. Silouan the Athonite, my favorite Orthodox saint, says “We suffer because… we do not love others. From our love of others comes the love of God.” Since God’s love is present where we love one another, we suffer without God’s love if we don’t. From loving each other comes God’s love. This cyclical idea reminds us that God’s very presence and our love for others are intrinsically intertwined. —Mark Gladman, @monkindocs, April 17, 2023

Prayer
Make me like you, O Mystery who we call Christ. Plant your love deep within me. Imprint and instill within me the power of your resurrection. Let your very presence move me toward your vision for my life. Amen. —The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster
