Scripture
What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. —Philippians 3:8–9
Wisdom
the truth is my hope is mangled, it limps and creaks at night. you speak of hope like a white bird soaring, it’s okay that mine is the battered exhale, a bench with splintered wood. —Cole Arthur Riley, @blackliturgies 12/22/2022
Prayer
May my hope or lack-there-of, be redeemed, welcomed, considered holy in your sight, O God. May my faith or lack-there-of, become fodder for the creative energy of this day, forging a way toward mercy, justice, and love. Amen. —The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster
