Scripture
But [God] said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. —2 Corinthians 12:9
Wisdom
As I was walking between the living room and the dining room one day I discovered that I had lost the meaning of the crucifixion. I don’t mean that I didn’t know what Christians say about the cross… I knew that. I don’t mean that I had lost my faith. It was much stranger than that, something more like what I would imagine a stroke victim experiences when she looks at a familiar object like a book or a dinner plate in an ordinary setting, and can’t understand what she is seeing. On that day I looked at the cross and it made no sense. —Roberta Bondi, Memories of God
Prayer
For losing and finding, for knowing and trusting, for searching and understanding, for seeing and speaking aloud, we give you thanks O God. Amen. —The Reverend Dr. Katie Snipes Lancaster
