Blest Be the Tie That Binds

The Reverend Dr. Jo Forrest

Our relationships with each other and Jesus tether us to God through what is called the body of the church. Church is not a building but the collection of people who hold on to Christ’s promises and seek to live as he taught. Through these abstract ties we also experience the Holy Spirit coursing within our souls in ways that often defy words.

Throughout this pandemic, in-person or on Zoom, children have wondered about God’s presence, youth were given the space to be honest about life, and as adults we held each other in joy and sorrow, plumbing the depth of passions previously we’d not allowed to bubble up. In the midst of a pandemic and all the unrest, our church has remained a safe harbor.

This tie to Christ through Kenilworth Union is open to everyone regardless of where you sit geographically or on the continuum of faith and doubt. We welcome you as frequent visitors or as a member of this long-standing and thriving congregation.

Come to our Information classes to learn more and consider if you feel called to become a member. All are welcome here.
