Ash and Starlight

Ash and Starlight Book Event

Writer Arianne Lehn, an ordained minister who is also married to the pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Wilmette, is coming to Kenilworth Union to discuss “prayerful parenting” using her book, Ash and Starlight.  All parents and grandparents are welcome to join us on Friday, Nov. 15 at 9:45 a.m. to discuss how prayer can help us stay centered for the holidays; to experience prayers written from the chaos of everyday life; and to learn how to incorporate prayer into the daily rhythms of life. Come take this opportunity to feel closer to God and commune with other parents, and find some peace in the everyday routine.

Meet in the Culbertson Room. Babysitting is available in AJN Preschool Room 26 with Monica and Patti Leon.

Arianne Lehn

A native South Dakotan, Arianne planned on law school until God nudged her toward Taiwan where everything changed. An ordained clergy-couple minister in the PC(USA) and a team writer for Illustrated Children’s Ministry, Arianne’s work has also appeared on her blog (Ash and Starlight), in Upper Disciplines: A Book of Daily Devotions 2018, Pause: Moments to Reflect, The Christian Century, Presbyterians Today, Horizons, These Days, as well as in musical composition. Running, yoga, being by water, playing piano, reading, painting, cooking with great background music, and soulful conversation are some of her lifelines. The sound of children laughing keeps her faith alive. Arianne lives in Wilmette, IL with her husband, Jeff, and their children, Eden and Simon.
